Gomez & Sadlon Jazz Duo to Perform at the Mattatuck

The Mattatuck Museum presents the Gomez & Sadlon Jazz Duo at the All Jazz First Thursday event on April 5 from 5:30-7:30pm. The duo performs a wide range of music that features a repertoire of popular jazz, pop, rock and even some country musical selections from the American Songbook performed in an easy jazz style.

The collaboration of guitarist Thom Gomez, and saxophonist and flutists Rick Sadlon results in a beautiful combination of sounds that tastefully complement each other and have a broad audience appeal. Guitarist, Thom Gomez is an experienced musician who grew up on Long Island and started performing in rock and show bands in and around the New York City area at an early age. He soon became part of the Hartford music scene, was associated with musicians at Creative Music and performed extensively with the Bob Dehne Jazz Quartet, which is now located on the west coast.

Saxophonist and flutist Rick Sadlon graduated from the renowned jazz education music school at University of North Texas and won outstanding jazz soloist awards at several collegiate jazz festivals. As a college student he was also chosen to perform in the Disney All-American College Jazz Band in Anaheim, California. As lead alto saxophone in the S/S Norway Orchestra he performed with acts such as Rita Moreno, Dihann Carroll, Lionel Hampton and Anne Murray. Rick is currently the Director of Music for the Darien, CT public schools.
