Santa is coming to Waterbury to find out what little girls and boys want for Christmas. The Mattatuck Museum welcomes the community for some holiday family fun on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 1:00-4:00pm.
Children will meet Santa and see his beautifully decorated sleigh and tell him their holiday requests. Take photos of your children with Santa and his sleigh piled high with presents. Create a special holiday memory and memento for the family album. View holiday film shorts and enjoy gingerbread cookies and hot cider.
Santa’s visit coincides with the whimsical exhibit of toys from Connecticut’s past in the museum’s Community Gallery. TOYS! will bring back fond memories of your childhood and create new memories for your children and loved ones. Visit the museum to see the William Brinley hand carved miniature circus on loan from the Barnum Museum in Bridgeport, CT. See a special display of delightful and fascinating vintage dolls, toys and games drawn from the Mattatuck’s collection and on loan from private collections. The exhibit opened on Friday, November 25, 2011 at The Mattatuck Museum and runs through Sunday, February 26, 2011.
