Learn to make a 3-D sculpture out of wool at the needle felting workshops, designed for adults at Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust. Needle felting is an easy craft, in which a barbed needle is used to sculpt wool into anything imaginable. The sessions are taught by local artist, Rachel Gerowe at The Studio at Van Vleck Farm and Nature Center, corner of Flanders and Church Hill Roads in Woodbury.
Participants will make a 3” cow “sculpture” in the upcoming class, held on Friday, July 22 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Crafters will make a cat, during the August workshop on Friday, August 19 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The cost is $35.00 per class, which includes enough materials to make one sculpture in class and another at home. Participants can save $5 if they bring their own needles and foam. Call Flanders at 203-263-3711, x 12 to register.
