Poetry Salon 2011: On the Button; Music, Poetry and Spoken Word

The Poetry Salon 2011 takes its inspiration from the museum’s dazzling collection of 10,000 buttons collected all over the world. Join us for an evening of poetry and music in celebration of those beautiful little fasteners which are part of our city’s heritage. Our host for the evening will be local noted poet Ernie Blue. Phil Rosenthal, former Connecticut State Troubadour, will perform bluesy folk. The much admired string musician and fan favorite, Dan Tressler, will perform. Also on the roster is the Boston based spoken word artist Regie Gibson, whose work is inspired by the blues, jazz and the music of Jimi Hendrix. Gibson will be joined by noted poets Elizabeth Thomas and Tom Nicotera.
