Family Pet Dies in Woodbury House Fire
No residents injured in fire on Stage Coach Road in Woodbury this morning.
According to a report by WTNH, firefighters in Woodbury quickly put out a house fire this morning.
Around 8:30 a.m. this morning, a neighbor saw smoke coming from the house on Stage Coach Road. No one was home at the time of the fire, so firefighters had to break into the house, according to WTNH.
According to Woodbury Fire Chief Janet Morgan, "The first units breached the back door and the front door at the same time. They found a small fire in the kitchen, and were able to extinguish it rather quickly. We vented the roof to get the hot gasses out. so the guys could go in and make sure there was no extension, and now we are going to begin our cause of origin investigation."
The family dog died in the fire, and there was some damage to the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
