Federal Authorities Arrest Middlebury Fire Chief

The arrest was made on Thursday.

Middlebury fire chief Paul Perrotti was arrested by federal authorities on Thursday, WTNH News 8 reports.

It is not known what Perrotti has been charged with.

In May, the FBI removed boxes of files and the computer the fire department uses to manage finances from the Middlebury Fire Department. At the time, Perrotti said agents came to the station after a complaint was made charging malfeasance and misuse of department funds.

According to NBC Connecticut, Perrotti was scheduled to face a judge in Bridgeport Federal Court at 10 a.m.
