Former Middlebury Educator Avoids Prison Time

A former paraprofessional accused of sending sexually explicit messages to students was sentenced to probation.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — A former paraprofessional who sent sexually explicit messages to students will avoid prison time, according to The Waterbury Republican-American. Chad Oullette, 20, who was charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor, will serve five years of probation.

Oullette was accused of sending explicit Snapchat messages to three girls at Memorial Middle School in Region 15, where he had worked. He pleaded guilty in May and could have faced 18 months in prison.

One of the three girls went to the school's principal last year when Oullette sent her a video in which he was naked from the waist up and groping his genitals under a blanket, according to The Republican-American.
