Fund Started for Former Woodbury First Selectman Stomski

Jerry Stomski was badly injured in a garage explosion last week. He suffered critical injuries.

A GoFundMe has been started to help former Woodbury First Selectman Jerry Stomski after he was critically injured in a North Carolina garage explosion.

Stomski was injured at his home in Hampstead, NC on March 27. He suffered significant burns and damage to his lungs.

He will likely be at the burn center for several months and his wife Joan is staying in Chapel Hill, which is much closer to the hospital than their home.

Funds will go toward easing the financial burdens associated with medical bills and living expenses.

“The Stomskis are an exceptional family who have always given back to their community, their neighbors and their friends,” wrote David Lawlor, organizer of the fund. “Now it’s our turn....”
