Fundraiser Set In Woodbury To Help Victim Of Serious Accident

The man was almost killed after he crashed his car after a tire came off of a tractor trailer that was being towed.

WOODBURY, CT — The Woodbury Brewing Company is hosting a fundraiser to assist Mark Smolen who was seriously injured after a tire from a tractor trailer that was being towed rolled off and shattered his windshield causing him to crash on Route 8 back in 2016, the Republican-American reports.

The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, July 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Woodbury Brewing Co. located at 738 Main Street South.

According to the announcement for the event it states, "Come out and help support our good friend Mark Smolen's road to recovery. Mark was in a horrible car accident in March 2016 that has left him with a long arduous journey to recovery.

Tickets include beer tokens, food from the Big Green Eggs and Hamburgers food truck, and live music from Irish acoustic artist Tommy Looney during his stateside stay! After the accident, Smolen was in a coma for a period of time and he continues to recover from the accident, the Rep-Am reports.
