Garbage Truck Takes Down Power Lines in Woodbury
Garbage truck pulled service wires while pulling out of driveway.

Just after 7 a.m. Tuesday the WVFD was dispatched to a wires down call, on a car with an occupant inside.
Upon arrival at the scene Fire Chief Janet Morgan found a garbage truck tangled in the service wires to a home. The driver was out of the truck waiting at the end of the drive for the fire department.
The driver had backed in to pick up the trash as he normally does when the service wire got caught on the truck. When he went to leave the driveway, the truck pulled the service wire from the home and it fell onto two cars in the driveway - both unoccupied.
There was no fire. CL&P was called. Chief Morgan turned command over to the Woodbury Police Department who waited for CL&P.
