Elena Alexandra Persico graduated with High Honors from Pomperaug High School on June 15, 2016. She is the daughter of Anastasia Vithoulkas Persico and Louis J. Persico III. Elena is an enlisted member of The United States Marine Corps, where she will further her career in law, intelligence, and political government. Elena received a Private First Class Promotion and passed the Military Intelligence Test. To further pursue her field of study, she will be studying Arabic. Elena served as president of GOYA here at Holy Trinity for two years, a member of the MAIDS, and participated in many church activities and fundraisers. She also was part of many organizations such as Mock Trial, YAG, NAMES, Debate, Student Government, Robotics and various athletic teams, holding positions of office as well as Captain. She has received The President’s Award, High Honors Awards, Hellenics Award, MVP & Coaches Awards, and Team & Participation Awards. Elena perseveres in everything she does; having pride is what will make her an outstanding Marine. She has what it takes to make it to the top. We are so proud of her and will miss her dearly when she departs on July 18, 2016.
