Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Middlebury, Woodbury

Thunderstorms and flooding concerns are possible through Thursday, July 9.

The week of July 7 through July 10 will be hot and humid and there is a chance for severe weather beginning Tuesday through Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

If rain falls where you are, expect it to be heavy and to possibly lead to flooding concerns, the weather service predicts. There’s a 30- to 50-percent chance across the state.

The National Weather Service issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties.

Flash flooding is a possibility and the forecast is calling for the heaviest rain to fall on Thursday.

NBC Connecticut Chief Meteorologist Brad Field wrote on social media “oppressive humidity levels likely tomorrow and Wednesday but dry and comfortable again by Friday / Saturday.”

  • Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Friday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
