Hearth Cooking at the Hurd House Taking Place in June

Join Jamie Monckton, Susan Cheatham and Douglas Schlicher as they take a closer look at colonial fare and cooking techniques.

Learn how foods were cooked over an open fire and see examples of cooking implements with Jamie Monckton, Susan Cheatham and Douglas Schlicher, as they take a closer look at colonial fare and cooking techniques.

Guests will be invited into the Hurd House Hall to view the hearth, which was rebuilt during the original restoration and is used today for colonial cooking.

The lecture will be held in the Barn on the Hurd House grounds at 25 Hollow Rd., Woodbury, from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 4.

Guests are advised to bring lunch. The Hurd House will provide beverages and dessert. Cost to attend is free, but donations are accepted to help defray costs.
