The House of Worth Lecture by Guest Curator

Museum Lecture and Exhibit, August 30, Pre-Registration Required

Join guest curator for the Litchfield Historical Society’s new exhibit The House of Worth: Dressing Litchfield, Karen DePauw, as she explores the influence of WWI on the couture fashions of the house of Worth, Paris’s first haute couturier. The war not only affected designs, but also the future of the Parisian couture industry in the years following.

Pick up a copy of the catalog, The House of Worth: Fashion Sketches, 1916-1919, published by Dover Publications and co-authored by Ms. DePauw.

The lecture will take place at 3pm on August 30. Lectures are free for members and $5 for non-members. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Payment is required at time of registration. To register, call (860) 567-4501 or email registration@litchfieldhistoricalsociety.org.
