On Thanksgiving eve, the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department responded to a MVA accident when a BMW left Middle Road Tpke, crossed over Route 6, and crashed through the Garden’s assembled Christmas trees and into a greenhouse filled with Poinsettias. The firefighters extricated Timothy Stampp, 50, of 44 Old Meadow Rd from the car and then donated three hours of their time as community volunteers bracing the structure, and putting tarps in place to insulate the plants. “Instead of spending their time with the families, they spent it on a Christmas community effort,” said Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan. “It’s what we all want to do besides fighting fires.”
