This discussion will introduce Sensory Processing Disorder (previously referred to as Sensory Integration Dysfunction) to promote:
• Teacher and parent awareness
• Understanding and application of philosophy for those who have children with these difficulties.
• Sensory compliments, including therapeutic strategies, and activities


Rae Suba is a certified pediatric occupational therapist, whose specialty is in Sensory Processing Disorders, Dyspraxia, Genetic and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is the Executive Director of Child’s Play Clinic, LLC in Westport, Connecticut. Rae has been specializing in the area of pediatric occupational therapy for over 18 years. Rae received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Occupational Therapy from Boston University in Boston Massachusetts, where she graduated with high honors. She has also completed graduate work in clinical psychology at Fairfield University in Fairfield Connecticut. Rae has completed a wealth of post graduate advanced training in a plethora of educational and therapeutic areas. Rae has written articles on the topics of Child Development and Sensory Integration for Children’s and Families-The Magazine of the National Head Start Association. She has also contributed her professional expertise to articles for Parents Magazine. Rae’s developmental references “Infant Gross and Fine Motor Development” and “Preschool Gross Motor and Fine Motor Skills” were published in Developmental Science, a psychology college textbook written by Harris and Graham. She is currently working to complete her first book.
