On Friday, March 28, The Watermark at East Hill will host its first-ever indoor dog show, featuring a variety of breeds from the Greater Southbury area. This event is free of charge and open to the public and will be held at 2:00 at the senior living community, located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.
In addition to providing background information on each dog and breed, the event will feature a specialty show ring, allowing the audience to get an up-close view of the dogs. A select group of well-trained dogs will also demonstrate obedience training skills.

Additionally, representatives from Southbury’s Companion Pet Rescue and Transport will give a brief presentation to discuss the process of rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters in the South and what happens after they are transported to Connecticut to find permanent homes.

“We are excited to welcome all of these wonderful dogs, owners and trainers to The Watermark for an event that is sure to delight our residents and guests,” said Michelle Bettigole. “These dogs are all lucky enough to have loving homes, but part of our intention with this event is to raise awareness about the many rescue dogs in the area that are in need of forever homes.”
The show will also feature Bettigole’s two dogs Daphne and Pepe, The Watermark’s “unofficial” mascots and rescue dogs who come to work with her each day and are beloved by residents, associates and guests of the community.
