Invasive Plant Inventory Walk

Invasive Plant Inventory Walk

Invasive plants are a prolific throughout the Connecticut landscape and the Pomperaug Watershed certainly isn't immune.  Non-native plants - including Mile A Minute Vine, Japanese Barberry, Multifloral Rose, Woody Bamboo, and Japanese Knotweed - are just a few of the plants that have taken hold along the banks of the Pomperaug where they crowd out important native species.

Join us for a walk along the banks of the Nonnewaug, Weekeepeemee, and Pomperaug Rivers at Three Rivers Park in Woodbury to familiarize yourself with these invaders.  Along the way, we will take inventory (and do some pulling) of the newly established Mile-a-Minute Vine, which we have hope for eradicating along the banks before it takes serious hold and causes any major harm.

Date/Time: Wednesday July 17 / 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Location: Meet at Three Rivers Park, Jack's Bridge Rd, Woodbury
Registration: 203-263-0076 or events@pomperaug.org
