Issues Continue for Regionalized Middlebury Emergency Dispatch: Report

Among the complaints, important information was not relayed to officers in the field in some instances.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — The town's police union says that issues still remain after Middlebury's emergency dispatch system was regionalized, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

Officers have complained that dispatchers have neglected to relay important information to them in some instances, and some of the dispatchers reportedly were unfamiliar with certain police procedures and policies.

The union says that the problems have largely not been addressed, but First Selectman Edward B. St. John told the publication that that is untrue; the town is aware of the issues and is working to resolve them.
