Citizens can dispose of their prescription drug leftovers safely.

Citizens can dispose of leftover prescription drugs at the police station, April 30.
Police will collect the drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in association with the drug enforcement agency.
According to a press release, disposing of drugs by throwing them in the trash or flushing them down the toilet still pose health and safety hazards.

Citizens can dispose of their pills “free and anonymously, no questions asked” according to the release.
Previous pill collection efforts yielded 242,000 pounds of drugs nationally.
