Southbury CT: "For the LOVE of Cats!" Art Show featuring works by ShawnaLee W. Kwashnak at Whiskers Pet Rescue (134 Main st. south/Bennett Square) during the month of May 2022.

This Exclusive Cat-ivating Art Show will feature a collection of Feline Portraits by ShawnaLee including her own studio companions through the years as well as others way too adorable for an artist to pass up. Is your kitty (or future kitty) included? From "caught snoozing", to adoring "love stares", or "I'm busy hunting" looks, to typical "Catitude" any cat owner will instantly recognize, these portraits will bring a deeply enriching joy to those visiting the rescue. Smaller works of art including Cat-Only Note-cards and mugs will be offered for sale in Whisker's Boutique. Some of the works offered for sale will include CURRENT shelter kitties waiting to go home with you! Guests are invited to commission a Pet Portrait in support of Whisker's Pet Rescue - 20% of all sales during the show will be donated to Whiskers Pet Rescue! Meowtastic!!!!!!!! Plan FUR- MOTHER'S day today!!!!

Whiskers Pet Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 charity in CT. dedicated to the care and support of cats and kittens operated solely by volunteers. Their funding is generated through adoptions, donations, fundraising, and grants. They receive no federal or state funding. Caring for the sick, injured, abandoned, and abused, Whisker's volunteers work around the clock to provide a warm comfortable environment where our animals are loved and socialized so that they may be adopted into forever homes. In addition to offering a shelter, they have dozens of foster homes open to cats and kittens where they are hand raised by families until they are old enough or well enough to be adopted. Whisker's animals are seen weekly by a Vet to make sure they are healthy and have received quality medical care.

Portraits by ShawnaLee offers quality traditional hand drawn or painted portraits in Charcoals or Oils. ShawnaLee W. Kwashnak has been an artist and animal lover her whole life. She offers art classes year round and is a second time recipient of an artist's respond Grant from the CT office for the arts to teach pandemic portraiture.
