Memorial Middle School Students Honored for Writing
Over 1,000 entries were submitted from across the state of Connecticut, including Region 15 Schools.
From Pomperaug Regional School District 15:
Two students from Mrs. Barbara Marano’s Grade 6 English Language Arts Class have been recognized for their writing by the Connecticut Writer’s Project at the University of Connecticut. Over 1,000 entries were submitted from across the state of Connecticut.
Eliza Ford was the winner of the Poetry category for Grade 6. Her poem “An Image to Hide In” will be published in the Connecticut Student Writer’s Magazine. Eliza has been invited to read her published piece during the award ceremony as the sixth grade representative.

Matthew Galiette received an honorable mention for Grade 6 non-fiction writing for his story “Mouse in the House”.
Both students will be honored at an award ceremony at the University of Connecticut in Storrs in May.
