Middlebury 2018 Budget Referendum Results
More than 1,200 residents voted on Wednesday.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — Both the town and Region 15 Board of Education were approved Wednesday despite Middlebury residents narrowly voting against the school budget plan. Southbury residents voted almost two to one in support of the Region 15 budget, 2,302 to 1,244, and that more than made up for Middlebury residents voting 662 to 611 against it, the Republican-American reports.
The town budget passed by a vote of 783 to 533. This means next year's budget is set at $33.37 million or a 3.57 percent spending hike, the Rep-Am reports. Two ballot questions also were approved by residents.
A taxpayer with a home assessed at $208,600 will pay an extra $312 next year, the Rep-Am reports.
