Middlebury, Berlin Schools in Running for $68,000 Grant
The national "Follett Challenge" is about the "4 C's," creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — Memorial Middle School in Middlebury, and McGee Middle School in Berlin, are both in the running for a $68,000 grant courtesy of the educational company Follett Learning.
The national "Follett Challenge" is about the "4 C's," creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication, and schools from around the country made videos to showcase those topics through reading literacy. In all, the winning schools will share from a total pool of $200,000.
"The Follett Challenge is an advocacy program designed to give educators a platform to share their stories of innovating ways to teach skills needed in the 21st century," the company writes. "Are you implementing a unique, collaborative program that engages students and teaches the four Cs? Show us!"

Both Connecticut schools are the only two from the state in the running for grant money that would go toward the schools' libraries, reports Fox61 News.
