Middlebury Board of Finance Complains Over Use of Town Funds
The board said the city's funds needed to be used better than they have been in the past.

Board of Finance members have complained about Finance Director Lawrence S. Hutvagner’s use of a non-recurring capital account, the Republican-American reported.
Hutvagner had been using the fund for monthly GPS charges for the town’s police cars.
According to the paper, Board of Finance Chairman Michael McCormack said moving forward, the board only wanted to use the funds for one-time capital costs.

Hutvagner said the funds had been used for the past 15 years without any complaints and the costs could come from the general fund if the board wanted to change the way finances were done in the future, the paper reported.
The capital non-recurring fund is made up of expenditures authorized by the town over the years.
