Middlebury Budget Referendum Vote Includes 2 Ballot Questions

The budget referendum vote is coming up soon.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — Town residents will vote on the budget referendum on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voting will be at the Shepardson Community Center, 1172 Whittemore Road. Absentee Ballots are available are available in the Town Clerk's Office.

According to the Republican-American, there will also be two ballot questions including approving $780,000 to purchase property on White Avenue to end ongoing litigation and help pave the way for elderly housing, and also approve $200,000 for capital needs and upgrades.

The proposed town budget of $33.7 million would increase the tax rate from 31.01 to 32.51 mills, the Rep-Am reports. Middlebury's share of funding for Region 15 continues to increase.
