Middlebury First Selectman Pitches Budget Plan: Report
The initial budget plan has been proposed.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — First Selectman Edward B. St. John's $10.9 million budget proposal for fiscal 2018-19 would increase spending by 2.11 percent, which includes funds for a new economic development coordinator position, the Republican-American reports.
St. John has noted that since 2005-06 municipal costs have increased by 6.2 percent while education costs have increased by a staggering 56.9 percent during the same time period.
As always the other big unknown is how much money will the state fund. Budgets are finalized in the spring.
