Middlebury Man Arrested After Traveling 50 MPH Over Speed Limit

A Middlebury man was arrested by state police on Tuesday, July 26 after he was clocked doing 80 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone.

Police arrested Kevin Granja, 21, of Middlebury after clocking him at the excessive speed on Route 172 in Southbury. During the stop, police learned Granja was also under the influence at the time.

Granja reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was arrested and processed on charges of reckless driving and operating under the influence. He was later released on a $1,000 bond and has an Aug. 10 court date.
