Middlebury Man, Wallingford Teacher Faces Sex Assault Charge

According to the Associated Press, a Middlebury man and teacher with the Wallingford school district has been arrested on sexual assault charges.

Police say 35-year-old Mario Fusco of Middlebury turned himself in on Tuesday and was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to or impairing the morals of children. He was held with bail set at $10,000 and is scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

Police say they received a complaint on Sunday and after obtaining a search warrant for Fusco's home, found possible evidence.

Police say the victim is between 14 and 19 years old, but did not say whether that person is a student in the Wallingford schools.

Fusco is a science teacher at the alternative high school.
