Middlebury Parents File Lawsuit Alleging Abuse at Southbury Day Care Facility: Report

A worker at the Clockwork Learning Center allegedly abused a then 19-month-old girl more than two years ago.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — Middlebury residents Jennie and Jeffrey Taranovich are suing Southbury's Clockwork Learning Center, alleging that a worker at the facility abused their daughter but the center's director did nothing about it.

Linda Lewis is accused by the Taranoviches of physically abusing the girl, yelling at her and force-feeding her, reports the Waterbury Republican-American. A co-worker of Lewis' reportedly videotaped some of the alleged abuse and showed it to Taranoviches.

In addition to Lewis and Clockwork's parent company, Clockwork Childcare of CT, Inc., also named in the lawsuit is the Southbury center's director Alicia Doyon, who allegedly did not stop the abuse.
