Middlebury Police Discover: Fireworks and Cars Don't Mix
A Middlebury police officer discovered an interesting scenario on Route 63.

Kristopher Collins, 20, of 269 Wedgewood Drive, Naugatuck, allegedly threw fireworks out of his window on Wednesday, June 27, while driving on Route 63 at approximately 2:28 p.m.
Officer Todd Adams reportedly observed the alleged fireworks tossing. Collins was issued an infraction for 14-146, pertaining to objects not to be thrown at vehicles.

Also in the vehicle with Collins were Jennifer Collins, 18, of 269 Wedgewood Drive, and Christanjon Burr, 18, of 230 Spring St., Naugatuck.

ATVs and Dirt Bikes
On Wednesday, June 27, two callers reported dirt bikes or ATVs riding through the areas of Northwood Drive and Whittemore Road.
Two Car Accident
At approximately 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, Jennifer Crooks, 42, of 95 High St. Naugatuck, struck the car belonging to Shannon Garcia, 19, of 26 City Hill Court, Naugatuck, while both were driving on Straits Turnpike.
There were no reported injuries. Crooks was given a warning for 14-240a: failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
