Male Transported to Bus Station
Police transported a man to the bus station after receiving a call on Saturday, Feb. 25, that a disheveled man with luggage was sitting on the curb near Hop Brook Dam, looking lost.

A Brief on Boxers
On Saturday, Feb. 25, a Breakneck Hill Road resident contacted police because two Boxer dogs were running through her yard, toward Middlebury Road.

Animal Control Officer Oreste P. Bona was able to catch the dogs and bring them home. While on the call, Bona said he observed a young man riding a skateboard dressed in black and almost hit the man. Upon arrival by police, the man was gone.
Dog Reportedly Attacked
At approximately 8:26 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, a Porter Avenue resident called police saying something attacked her dog while the dog was outside. Police checked the area and said they did not find anything.
Dog Left at Shelter
A tan Husky dog was found tied to a fence at the on Friday, Feb. 24.
Traffic Stop Mishap
While Officer John Desmarais was conducting a Thursday, Feb. 23, routine traffic stop on Straits Turnpike, he reported a vehicle almost striking an officer. A message was put out over the radio system for the vehicle to be stopped for erratic operation.
The vehicle was reportedly driven by Jaimee Walsh of Southbury and was heading toward Naugatuck. The outcome was not listed in the police report.
Scam Alert
On Wednesday, Feb. 22, a resident reported receiving unwanted calls from scammers pretending to be relatives who needed money. The calls were from Canada. Lt. Richard Wildman investigated.
Bad Checks
On Wednesday, Feb. 22, tax collector Jean Dawes said she sent several certified letters to people regarding the issuance of bad checks and did not receive responses from those people.
Officer Kathy Blick investigated.
Dog Bite Reported
On Wednesday, Feb. 22, a resident reported that her Labrador mix was bitten by another dog in the Brookside complex. Dispatcher and Animal Control Officer Jim Roy investigated.
Reported Theft From Animal Shelter
On Monday, Feb. 20, police received a complaint about various supplies taken from the over the last couple of months. Officer Edward Demers is investigating the matter.
Reported Shenanigans on Land Trust Property
Police reported receiving a call around 1:57 p.m. Monday. Feb. 20, about a vehicle with a loud muffler on land trust property, driving in circles.
The vehicle reportedly belonged to Manuel Javares, 45, a Naugatuck resident. The vehicle was last seen heading toward Rubber Avenue in Naugatuck. Officer Edward Demers investigated.
Police Called to a Field After Dark
At approximately 9:02 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, police were called to a field off Benson Road, across from . Upon arrival, Officer Todd Adams found a man trying out his new telescope.
Mailboxes Damaged
On Sunday, Feb. 19, a Munson Road resident reported that someone damaged their mailbox. On that same day, a Burr Hall Road resident reported that their mailbox was damaged.

Reported Larceny/Theft
A blue cardiovive AT AED with a clear inset was reported as stolen from , located at 1625 Straits Turnpike. The theft reportedly took place sometime between Friday, Feb. 17, and Tuesday, Feb. 21, according to police.
The value of the piece of equipment is $1,500, the police report stated. Officer Kathy Blick investigated.
