Middlebury Police Officers Recognized for Saving Man's Life

The officers' actions saved the man's life after he took a drug at a concert in 2013.

Middlebury police officers Edward Demers and David Jannetty were honored at the Exchange Club of Waterbury’s First Responder Application Breakfast held on Thursday, the Republican-American reports.

The two officers were honored for their life-saving actions for performing CPR on a young man who went into cardiac arrest after he took a drug at a concert held in Middlebury in September 2013.

The officers were praised for their actions by Police Chief James Viadero and were given a certificate and proclamation from the Connecticut General Assembly, the paper reports. Several other town officers and first responders were also honored at the ceremony.
