Middlebury Resident Involved in One of Four Rain Accidents

The accidents all occurred between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Wednesday night’s rain caused four accidents within one hour, the Republican-American reports.

Police, firefighters and an ambulance crew responded to an accident on Old Field Road in Southbury at 2:08 p.m, the paper reports. The driver, Samuel Sirkon of Southbury lost control of his jeep landing upside down in a drainage ditch. Sirkon was not injured.

A little after 2:14 p.m. crews responded to an accident at Southford Road that involved Luz M. Soto-McKenzie, 37, of Middlebury and 77-year-old Oxford resident Marion Jean Srirubas. According to the paper, both drivers and a passenger were sent to Waterbury hospitals. While the passenger was okay, the condition of the two drivers could not be determined Wednesday night.

Two minor accidents occurred at the intersection of Main Street South and Main Street North at around 2:29 p.m.
