Middlebury, Woodbury Under Severe Thunderstorm Watch

The weather finally feels like summer and with that comes humidity and the possibility of the summer thunderstorm.

Thunderstorm watches are in effect for the whole state until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28., according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologist Gil Simmons writes:

“A line of thunderstorms likely 3PM-7PM from NW to SE here in CT. A warning for a strong wind gust possible.”

Middlebury’s Forecast

Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. Southwest wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 56. South wind around 6 mph becoming north in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Woodbury Forecast

Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Southwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday Night: Scattered showers, mainly before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 57. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
