More Reductions Made To Region 14 Schools Budget: Report

The first referendum failed last week.

WOODBURY, CT — Region 14 officials are hoping a $150,000 reduction to its initial budget request will be enough to get its budget referendum passed later this month. The revised budget now stands at $33.98 million or a 1.9 percent spending increase, the Republican-American reports.

The first budget referendum was narrowly rejected last week. None of the new cuts made were to programs, officials told the Rep-Am. The referendum is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23.
