New Woodbury Garden Center Opened without Permits: Report

Joseph Sampieri opened the new store on North Main Street at the former Clamdigger restaurant site.

WOODBURY, CT — Joseph Sampieri, a veteran of the gardening business, has opened a new garden center on North Main Street in Woodbury, but he apparently neglected to obtain a town permit for the enterprise, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

The shop opened this summer and is located in the former Clamdigger restaurant site. According to Woodbury Town Planner Kathy Castagnetta, Sampieri did not obtain a change of use permit.

As part of the permitting process, Sampieri must prove there is adequate parking at the location, which may conflict with his current gardening set up.
