WOODBURY, CT — Julia Soto, a 2016 graduate of Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury, received one of 22 Connecticut Red Sox Service Scholarships presented to graduating seniors from Connecticut public high schools this year.
The Ford Motor Company Fund was a sponsor of the program, and the fund's Tom O’Leary presented Soto with her award at Fenway Park in Boston prior to last Sunday’s Red Sox game against the Minnesota Twins.
This is the scholarship program’s third year in Connecticut, according to the fund. It was first launched in New Hampshire in 2010 and now runs in all five New England states outside of Massachusetts.
