Nonnewaug High School Project Yields Good News For Taxpayers

School officials recently gave a status update on the renovation project.

WOODBURY, CT – Renovations on the $63.8 million Nonnewaug High School project are progressing so rapidly that this means good news for taxpayers. The Republican-American reports that because the project is breezing right along it's going to save taxpayers in Woodbury and Bethlehem money.

Officials told the Rep-Am that because the project is accelerating faster that first thought it means the total amount of money that has to be borrowed will be less and therefore it will save taxpayers money on interest costs.

The project is half completed and local taxpayers will absorb $37.6 million with the state paying the rest.
