A group of 39 students and 5 counselors were on hand Tuesday December 11 at the Connecticut Food Bank where they boxed up over 11,000 pounds of food for the needy residents in the state. The community service trip to the Connecticut Food Bank, the 4th year running, is organized by Region 14 Director of School Counseling Wendy Yatsenick.

"Community service and supporting students in becoming good citizens is important and is an essential part of our district wide curriculum," Yatsenick said. The students learn about "Hunger 101" and worked on food salvage and potato sorting to prepare boxes for hungry people in the state.
