Obituary: Adele R. Czarny, 90, Formerly of Middlebury

Adele Czarny was a charter member of the Quassapaug Yacht Club.

 

Adele R. (Albaitis) Czarny, 90, of Pond Hill Road, Moosup, formerly of Middlebury, died at her home on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. She was the wife of Luke Czarny and the widow of George Schwenk.

Czarny was born in Nanticoke, Pa., on August 29, 1921, a daughter of the late V. and Veronica (Petroski) Albaitis. She was a longtime Middlebury resident and moved to Moosup where she currently resided for many years. She retired from Uniroyal Chemical in Middlebury where she was an executive secretary for over 30 years.  She was a charter member of the Quassapaug Yacht Club and was an avid sewer and quilter.  She enjoyed her retirement years living on Golden Pond with her husband Luke.

Besides her husband she leaves her step-daughter, Susan Jacoboski and her husband Ronald of Naugatuck; her grandchildren, David Jacoboski, Marcus Jacoboski and his wife Stephanie; several great-grandchildren and nephews.

Memorial Mass: 9 a.m. Monday, July 2, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck.
