Obituary: Casmir "Casey" P. Uszakiewicz, 85, of Naugatuck
Casey Uszakiewicz was a self employed builder and was a carpenter for the Naugatuck Board of Education.He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict on various ships and carriers.

Casmir Paul "Casey" Uszakiewicz, 85, of Naugatuck, died unexpectedly on Friday Jan. 6, 2012. He was husband of the late Theresa (Aquavia) Uszakiewicz for 56 years.
Uszakiewicz was born in Beacon Falls on November 27, 1926, son of the late Walter and Pauline (Sawsian) Uszakiewicz. He grew up in Beacon Falls, attended Seymour High School and lived most of his life in Naugatuck.

He was a self employed builder and was a carpenter for the Naugatuck Board of Education.
Upon retirement, Uszakiewicz continued his craft as a woodworker and built many pieces of furniture. His family was most important to him, and he will be remembered especially for the care he gave to his wife during her illness.

Uszakiewicz was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict on various ships and carriers including the USS Duluth, USS Boxer, USS Toledo and USS Worcester.
He leaves two sons, Charles Uszakiewicz and his wife LuAnn of Middlebury; and David Uszakiewicz of Naugatuck; two daughters, Lynn Clark and her husband Harris and Pamela LaCharity and her husband Bruce, all of Naugatuck; 10 grandchildren, Harrison Clark and Hollis Clark, Abbey Uszakiewicz, Eric LaCharity, Lauren Bogert, Bobby Plourde, Nicole Barry, Casey Uszakiewicz, Hannah Uszakiewicz, and Sarah Uszakiewicz; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his five brothers: John, Walter, Waceak, Chester and Joseph Uszakiewicz.
Calling Hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the
Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will meet at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 10, from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, to for a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m.
Military Honors Burial: St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.
