Obituary: Claire H. Tolmie, 80, of Woodbury

Claire Tolmie was an artistic person who loved sewing, knitting and gardening, as well as fishing off Lantern Point.

 

Claire H. Tolmie of Woodbury died Friday, March 9.

Tolmie was born September 9, 1931, in Sainte Jean, Quebec, Canada, and moved to the U.S. when she was nine years old. She was a long time resident of Fairfield and in later years, moved to Woodbury.

She worked at CBT Blackrock in the Computer Programming Department for 25 years.

Tolmie was an artistic person who loved sewing, knitting and gardening, as well as fishing off Lantern Point.

A woman of strong faith, she was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She leaves three children: Carl, Carrie and her husband, Dan, and Craig and his wife, Gay; her sister, Louise; six grandchildren, Holly, Carli, Chris, Carl, Marla and Stratton; and two great-grandchildren, Jordan Grace and Bentley.

Services: A memorial service will take place in June at Fairfield Beach.
