Obituary: Clare C. Smith-Bennett, 74, of Woodbury

Woodbury – Clare C. Smith-Bennett, 74, died peacefully July 30, 2018 in Hartford Hospital. She was the wife of Craig T. Bennett. Clare was born April 2, 1944, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Timothy J. and Clare (Heyniger) Chichiloff. She was formerly of Sandy Hook and had worked for 17 years at Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown, as both a mental health worker and telephone operator. She was very active with the Woodbury Senior Center.

Besides her husband of 12 years, she leaves her daughter, Ardith Woods and her husband, David, of Vermont; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Nicole Woods.

Friends may gather at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury. Words of remembrance will take place at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
