Obituary: Dorothy G. Hill, 78, of Washington Depot

Dorothy G. Hill loved people and nature and enjoyed reading. A brother, Dennis Geyer, lives in Bethlehem.

 

Dorothy G. Hill, 78, of Washington Depot, died Sunday March 18, 2012, at her home. She was the wife of the late Elmer Hill, Jr.

Hill was born October 5, 1933 in New Milford, daughter of the late George and Margaret (Murtagh) Geyer. She resided in Washington Depot her whole life and was on the board for the Inlands and Wetlands Commission in Washington Depot.

Hill was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and a member of the Women’s Guild and the choir. She loved people and nature and enjoyed reading.

She leaves two sons, David Hill and his wife Susan of Litchfield; and Michael Hill and his wife Nancy of Knightdale, N.C.; four daughters, Kerry Saharek and her husband Stephen of Washington; Kathleen Holden of Pembroke, Mass.; Julie Schwindt and her husband Jeffrey of Colebrook; and Elena Kaut and her husband Michael of Poolville, Texas; two brothers, George Geyer and his wife Georgia of Southington; and Dennis Geyer of Bethlehem; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as 19 nieces and nephews.

Visitation: There are no calling hours.

Services: A memorial mass will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Washington Depot.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Washington Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 244, Washington Depot, CT 06794.
