Obituary: Former Middlebury Resident Guy E. Elwood, 95, of Florida

Guy E. Elwood, 95, of Florida, died on February, 21, 2012. Elwood was born on November 21, 1916, in Fairfield, Vermont, son of the late Richard and Ethel Elwood.

He was preceded in death by his wife Laura (Dolly) Elwood of 55 years. He retired from Uniroyal Chemical Company with 41 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime resident of Middlebury before moving to Florida. He kept busy in retirement enjoying camping, gardening, playing horseshoes, playing the harmonica, bowling and watching sports on television.

Elwood is survived by his loving family, two daughters Leona (Chip) O'Neil of Wolcott; Elaine J. Cetrone and her husband, Al, of Palmetto, Florida; a son, Guy E. Elwood Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Ocala, Florida; seven grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; three sisters and several extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his loving son-in-law Charles J. O'Neil of Wolcott, four brothers and one sister.

Services:  Memorial services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St. North, Southbury.
