Obituary: George R. Poulin, 62, of Middlebury

George Poulin enjoyed traveling with his family, golf, fine dining, and reading. Calling hours are today: Tuesday, Jan. 29.

 

George R. Poulin, age 62, of Middlebury, died Sunday January 27, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Beverly Ann (Hooper) Poulin.

Mr. Poulin was born in Waterbury on August 30,1950, son of the late George and Mae (Garrity) Poulin. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury and Villanova University.

He was the owner and President of Poulin Associates, Inc. from 1985 until 2012. He was currently working as a sales consultant for Gallagher Sales Associates, Inc.

Mr.Poulin was a communicant of St. John of the Cross Church in Middlebury, a member and former president of the local chapter of the National Electrical Manufacturing Representatives Association (NEMRA). He was elected as NEMRA Man of the Year for 2012 for his years of integrity and service to the electrical industry.

He enjoyed traveling with his family, golf, fine dining, and reading.

Besides his wife, Mr. Poulin is survived by his daughter, Sarah Poulin, of Middlebury, and his son, Brian Poulin, also of Middlebury, and his dog Cooper.

He is also survived by one brother, Mark Poulin and his wife Carolyn of Prospect, two sisters, Kathy Brodeur and her husband Tom of Bristol and Cherie Capobianco and her husband Joey of Waterbury.

In addition to his siblings, he leaves five nieces and nephews, Carla Cruess, Gina Poulin, Mark Poulin, Allie Brodeur, and Meghan Brodeur.

Mr. Poulin's family would like to thank the BLISS 10I Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Hartford Hospital for the wonderful care that they provided.

Calling Hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd., Route 69, Prospect.

Memorial Mass: 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at St. John of the Cross Church, 1321 Whittemore Rd., Middlebury.

Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 34 Willow St., Waterbury, CT 06710.
