Obituary: Josephine T. Werden, 94
She owned the Town Coffee Shop in Woodbury and Southbury until purchasing the former Southbury Inn Restaurant.

Southbury – Josephine T. Werden, 94, a resident of Southbury for more than 65 years, died Friday, Jan. 5th in the VITAS Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital. Jo was born July 12, 1923, in Danbury, daughter of the late Roman and Mary (Plachta) Polubinski. She owned the Town Coffee Shop in Woodbury and Southbury until purchasing the former Southbury Inn Restaurant where worked until her retirement.
An avid golfer , she was a past member of the Southington Country Club and continued playing into her 90’s. She also enjoyed playing bridge.

She leaves two sons, Albert Werden, and his wife, Jeri-Ann, of Southbury; and James Werden of Port Orange, FL; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her daughter, Carol Ann Werden and her son, Kenneth Werden.
