Obituary: Marguerite B. White
Friends may call at the Southbury Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday Dec. 2.

Marguerite B. White, 96, of Heritage Village in Southbury, died Monday November 28, 2011 in her home. She was the wife of the late Willard White, who died in 1986.
White was born October 21, 1915 in West New York, N.J., daughter of the late Rev. George and Marguerite (Ring) Berrian. She earned her bachelor's degree in science from Skidmore College, her master's degree in nursing education from Syracuse University, and her Ph.D. in nursing education from Columbia Teachers College.

She taught for more than 18 years at Skidmore College, Syracuse University and Wagner College. She was the associate dean of UConn School of Nursing for 10 years.
White was author and co-author of four published books on nursing education.
After retirement, she moved to Heritage Village where she served two terms on the Condo Board, was a volunteer with the Heritage Village Ambulance association for more than 20 years during which she served as its’ president over two years. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and loved the New York Yankees.

White is survived by her two daughters: Ellen and her husband Douglas Jeffrey of Southbury, and Elizabeth "Liz" and her husband Dana Fox of Leland, N.C.; three grandchildren: David Kuhla and his wife Diane of Washington, D.C.; Michael Kuhla of Milford; and Kathleen Singley and her husband Paul of Naugatuck; and a great granddaughter, Tessa Singley.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Southbury Public Library, 100 Poverty Rd., Southbury, CT 06488.
Visitation: Friends may call at the Southbury Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St. North, Southbury, from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1
Services: A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday Dec. 2 at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere.
Cemetery: A private burial will take place in the New North Cemetery in Woodbury.
