Obituary: Melanie Legendre, 49, of Southbury

Melanie Legendre, 49, of Heritage Village in Southbury, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, in her home. She was the loving spouse of Susan Poplardo.

Legendre was born July 24, 1962 in Hicksville, New York. She is a daughter of the late Lawrence and Gilda (Visalli) Legendre. She was formerly a resident of Naugatuck and an employee of for more than 16 years.

Besides her spouse of 18 years, she is survived by her brother Reed Legendre of Port Orange, Fla.; four sisters, Evelyn Conway of Middleburg, N.Y.; JoAnn Angieri of Medford, N.Y.; Gilda Meier of Brookfield; and Melanie’s twin, Melissa Legendre of Naugatuck; her father-in-law Tony Poplardo of Heritage Village and brother-in-laws Michael and Anthony, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: There are no calling hours.

Services: A memorial celebration will take place at , 138 Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests people bring a favorite picture and/or memory to share.
